How in the world does an organization plan a big function without remembering chairs? One of the organizations the kids are involved with planned a big fund-raiser with food, music, a silent auction, the works. They did not have enough chairs! I have no idea who was in charge of that part of the planning, but I’m sure they were not asked to help in that capacity again. It is amazing how many people out there have folding chairs in their garages or attics. We had to contact everyone in the organization and ask them to bring folding chairs to the event. We needed folding chairs as opposed to stationary chairs so they could be moved during the even to make room for dancing. We ended up with enough chairs to seat all the visitors and members with a few left over. It was surprising that so many chairs were brought out.

The Office Away from the Office

Anyone that has to telecommute or has a home business knows that the best office furniture has to be comfortable as well as functional, although the best furnishings should actually be a compromise between the two. While modern Office Star furniture usually includes a desk and a chair, there’s so much more to the home office these days. There are bookshelves, lamps, and file cabinets, but today’s home office furniture is largely comprised of technology. Just because an office is full of machines doesn’t mean that it has to lack a personal taste or be traditional. People with home offices will probably favor something more futuristic. The perfect computer desk will take up a small space and maximize it, allowing you to stack your computer, printer, keyboard, and other essentials to keep you from looking all over the place for your utensils and get more done. Add wheels to both the desk and the chair, and you can increase your accessibility, enabling you to take your work with you into any room.

Today’s home theater is more than just a high definition flatscreen television with a few strategically placed speakers. Now, you can watch all of your favorite shows and movies in a comfort comparable to a movie theater. The seating in the home theater is one of the most important pieces of furniture an owner can have. The comfort of the seats is what determines whether you will enjoy your movie or not. The right seats should be able to recline, but sit up high enough for you to still be able to see what’s going on. Seats that have cup holders in the armrest and speakers inside the headrests are a favorite with home cinema aficionados. To add to the comfort, the lounge chair can have flip-out footrests. People that like to watch movies also like to snack, and they’ll need a place to store their snacks while they’re not eating them. Ideal features include snack trays and storage containers to recreate the movie experience in the home and help everyone to unwind.

The Furniture of Hopes, and Dreams, and Imagination

There’s nothing more fun for expecting parents than to decorate their soon to be born child’s room. The walls are painted in pink or blue, and then little bookshelves filled with picture books and stuffed animals line the walls. A crib is added along with a changing station. The baby will need clean carpet to crawl around on, too. Although the nursery or baby’s room will be catered toward pleasing the baby, the mother will spend a considerable amount of time in the room bonding with the baby. She will need a comfortable rocking chair to rock the baby to sleep, play, or breastfeed. This is all done to welcome the newest addition into the family and make him or her feel at home. Older children will want something a little more grownup, though. They will want a big bed or a bunk bed if they have to share their room with a sibling. To truly make it their own, they’ll want their own things, even if they have to share a room. There would be toy boxes, bookshelves, and dressers decorated with their favorite cartoon character.
